Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 20, 2026 • Version: 1.0 • Applicable to: Migraine Navigator for iOS

This Privacy Policy describes how Migraine Navigator (the "Application"), developed by Aresh Tajvar ("Developer", "we", "us", or "our"), processes information when you use the Application on iOS devices.

The Application is built as a local, on-device utility. We do not operate developer backend servers, require user account registration, or collect personal health information. No personal health data leaves your device except through explicit, user-initiated actions.

Table of Contents

1. Information We Do Not Collect

The Application does not require account creation, email addresses, names, or passwords. We do not operate remote databases or user management systems. Consequently, we do not receive, store, or transmit any of the following categories of information to our own or third-party commercial servers:

2. Local On-Device Processing

All calculations, trend analyses, and personalized risk estimates are computed directly within the local memory of your iPhone. The Application does not transmit your entries to cloud servers for remote modeling. Your personal baseline calibrations and logged data remain strictly on your device and are never pooled or aggregated with data from other users.

3. Apple Health Integration

The Application provides optional integration with Apple HealthKit. If you grant explicit permission through the standard iOS authorization prompt, the Application reads relevant wellness metrics (such as sleep analysis, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, and activity data) directly from HealthKit to incorporate into your local risk forecasts.

If you enable headache export, the Application writes logged headache episodes directly to Apple Health under the headache category.

In accordance with Apple Developer Program License Agreement rules, HealthKit data accessed by the Application is never transmitted over the network to advertising platforms, data brokers, or third-party analytics services, and is never used for marketing or advertising purposes.

4. Location and Weather Data

To evaluate environmental factors such as barometric pressure changes and local weather forecasts, the Application requests location permission while the app is in use.

Geographic coordinates are transmitted directly to Apple's WeatherKit service solely to retrieve local atmospheric conditions. Location coordinates are stored within your local on-device database to provide environmental context for your logs. The Application does not perform continuous background route tracking and never transmits location data to the Developer or commercial third parties.

5. Data Storage and iCloud Sync

All application data is stored locally in the secure application sandbox on your device.

If you have Apple iCloud enabled on your device, the Application may synchronize your local database across your personal Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. This synchronization takes place entirely within your private Apple account container. The Developer has no access to your iCloud account, encryption keys, or synchronized database files.

6. Third-Party Services and Analytics

The Application does not include third-party advertising SDKs, commercial analytics frameworks (such as Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, or Facebook SDK), or behavioral tracking software. We do not sell, rent, monetize, or disclose user data to data brokers or commercial third parties.

Optional Anonymous Algorithm Telemetry: Users may optionally choose to share non-identifiable, aggregate mathematical accuracy and performance statistics with the Developer via Apple CloudKit to assist in validating model reliability. This telemetry contains no personal health records, symptoms, medications, or personal identifiers, and can be enabled or disabled at any time in Settings.

7. Technical Diagnostics and Logs

Technical diagnostics are handled through two privacy-preserving channels:

Apple MetricKit and Crash Reporting: The Application implements Apple's native MetricKit framework. If you have opted into sharing crash reports and diagnostics with app developers in your iOS device settings, Apple provides aggregated, anonymous crash reports and performance statistics through Xcode Organizer. These reports contain technical stack traces and system performance metrics, and contain no personal or health data.

User-Initiated Diagnostic Export: If you request technical assistance, you may choose to generate and export a diagnostic report from the Application's settings screen. This file contains rotating subsystem technical status codes (such as weather network response codes) to assist in troubleshooting. It excludes Protected Health Information and GPS coordinates, and is only shared if you manually attach it to a support email.

8. App Store Privacy Nutrition Labels

Pursuant to Apple App Store disclosure guidelines, the table below summarizes the Application's privacy practices:

Data Category Collected by Developer Linked to Identity Used for Tracking Handling Details
Health and Fitness No No No Evaluated locally in memory from Apple HealthKit; stored solely on device and private iCloud.
Location Data No No No Used transiently in memory to query Apple WeatherKit; not stored or transmitted to developer.
User Content and Logs No No No Episodes, medications, and notes remain in local storage on your device.
Diagnostics Yes (Aggregate only) No No Optional, non-identifiable forecast accuracy and performance statistics submitted via Apple CloudKit if enabled in Settings; anonymous system crash reports via Apple MetricKit if enabled in iOS.
Identifiers and Analytics No No No No user account registration, tracking identifiers, or third-party analytics libraries.

9. Data Portability and Deletion

You maintain full control over your stored data:

10. Children's Privacy

The Application is not directed to children under the age of 13. Because the Application does not collect personal information or maintain remote user databases, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. Medical Notice

Migraine Navigator is designed solely for informational, educational, and personal tracking purposes. It does not provide medical diagnoses, treatment plans, or clinical prescribing recommendations.

Risk forecasts are statistical estimates and do not guarantee the presence or absence of an attack. Always consult a qualified physician or healthcare provider regarding medical symptoms, diagnoses, or medication changes. Never disregard or delay seeking professional medical advice because of information presented in this Application.
